NGE supports Côte d’Ivoire’s national plan to improve sanitation and access to drinking waterby building water towers

NGE was awarded a contract by the National Drinking Water Office (ONEP) to build drinkable water towers. In over a year, inhabitants of the Koumokro region will welcome two new 100m3 capacity water towers, which will supply about 100,000 people. This project is part of ONEP’s overall project to improve access to drinking water in the country, a real challenge for Côte d'Ivoire.

The contract also includes the civil engineering work for a water treatment plant and a 3,000 m3 groundwater tank, which will allow water to be recovered, filtered, and directed to the water towers. The water towers, which are 15 metres high, will have the task of providing the right pressure in the network to supply households with drinking water.

Around forty employees will be working on the project, the majority of whom were trained by NGE on the construction site of the 43rd BIMA* ammunition depot.

In Côte d’Ivoire, NGE focuses its activity on the construction of essential infrastructure, such as the seven bridges to address remoteness in the centre of the country or the rehabilitation of dams in the Korhogo area to irrigate agricultural crops.

It is a rewarding achievement to be chosen for our combined expertise in both civil engineering and water networks.
