NGE has been selected as the lead contractor for the consortium responsible for constructing the extension of the Wattrelos wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), the second largest facility in the metropolitan area. This project is being carried out on behalf of the European Metropolis of Lille (MEL). The aim is to modernize the WWTP to increase its capacity and accommodate future population growth in the region. This facility plays a crucial role in water treatment for northern France.
The construction work, carried out by NGE, will follow an extremely precise phasing plan to ensure the continuous operation of the treatment plant and strict adherence to deadlines. The first phase of the work includes the construction of a 30,000 m³ underground water storage basin using diaphragm walls and a new inlet channel. The second phase focuses on building new wastewater treatment basins, primarily based on deep foundations.
With this new wastewater treatment plant project, NGE reaffirms its expertise and position as a trusted partner in delivering industrial civil engineering and water treatment infrastructure.
