The A10/A71 motorway split

Carried out under the terms of the contract awarded by Vinci Autoroutes / COFIROUTE, this project is designed to reconfigure the A10/A71 junction to improve and smooth motorway traffic flows around Orléans, and therefore improve road safety.

The project is technically and organisationally very complex, and includes:

• the creation of a 4th lane for the A10 between the A10/A71 split and the A10/A19 split
• the construction of temporary carriageways to maintain two lanes of traffic in each direction
• the creation of a new special structure over the A10, and modifications to existing bridges
• the creation of the reinforced earth and embankments made necessary by the constricted footprint available
