NGE and ITS Technology, working in partnership with LCRCA (Liverpool City Region Combined Authority), have been selected for the Liverpool Backhaul project : a high-speed fiber infrastructure project which will connect all 6 local authority areas in the Liverpool Region, by delivering Gigabit internet connectivity to a diversity of key economic activities.

This new project is a PPP (public-private partnership) in which NGE is involved, throught its dedicated project funding subsidary in France or at the international level, NGE Concessions.

The project includes the financing and the construction of a 212 km full fibre, gigabit-capable network infrastructure including 75 km of cables installed in existing networks (telecoms, electricity, etc.). These works will provide fibre optic coverage for 100% of the territory of the six districts of Greater Liverpool: Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral.

This new fibre optic contract confirms NGE’s determination to be a key player in the fibre optic market in Europe.
