NGE began its activity in Uruguay in 2018 with the Ferrocarril Central project, a 264km railway line connecting the UPM cellulose plant in Pasos de Los Toros to the Montevideo harbour. In this PPP (Public-Private Partnership), NGE took part in both the funding, with its subsidiary NGE CONCESSIONS and the construction of this major infrastructure project, involving many expertise of the Group such as earthworks, roads and utilities and railway. NGE’s presence in Uruguay demonstrates the Group’s capability to deliver large-scale projects to support sustainable mobility. It is NGE’s first public-private partnership outside of France.
