High-Speed internet:NGE completed the deployment of 1 million fibre optic connections

On 30 June this year, NGE celebrated the completion of construction work on the largest Public Initiative Network in France: LOSANGE. Awarded in 2017 to a consortium led by NGE in partnership with Altitude Infrastructure, this new fibre optic network now enables more than 3,400 cities, 91% of them with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants, in the Grand-Est region of France to benefit from very high-speed internet access.

To date, nearly one million fibre-optic connections have been deployed to homes, public facilities, and businesses in the area. Now that the fibre has been rolled out, people will be able to subscribe via internet service providers. Access to high-speed broadband provides numerous opportunities for communities (e-learning, access to culture and new leisure activities), businesses (productivity gains, access to innovative services, teleworking) and local authorities (connected and sustainable territories).

On this project, NGE participated in the financing, via its subsidiary NGE CONCESSIONS, as well as in the design, construction, launch, operations, and maintenance of this high-speed fibre optic network through its telecoms subsidiary NGE INFRANET.
